Daniel R. Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Daniel R. Gonzalez joined the Sports Medicine Fellowship in 2019 after completing his residency in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey, where he received the 2019 Resident Teacher Award. He graduated medical school in 2016 from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Gonzalez is a native of South Florida and completed his undergraduate education at Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. Dr. Gonzalez grew up playing baseball, football and soccer which led to his love for sports, and his goal to become a Sports Medicine physician. While in residency, he spent three years actively involved in the local community, particularly with high school athletes, providing coverage for football games, cardiac and concussion screenings, and pre-participation sports physicals at The College of New Jersey. He has a passion for helping people make healthy life style choices, work though injuries, and also educating them on injury prevention. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing/boating and following his favorite sports teams.
