Aquatic Physical Therapy Program

Not only can aquatic physical therapy help you recover from a sports injury, it’s a great way to recover from stressful training. Exercising in the water is a great alternative to exercising on land, especially if you have a condition that prohibits comfortable weight bearing because of a foot, ankle or knee injury. Water lessens gravity’s effect on the body and allows you to exercise with less physical stress on overworked muscles and joints.

The benefits of aquatic physical therapy include:

  • Early intervention to therapy
  • Decreases weight bearing
  • Increased mobility and range of motion
  • Improved strength and endurance
  • Decreased muscle spasms
  • Increases endurance
  • Pain reduction
  • Sensory stimulation

Conditions that benefit from aquatic therapy:

  • Ankle injury
  • Arthritis
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Knee injury
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Pregnancy
  • Rotator cuff injury
  • Sports injury
  • Total hip replacement
