Gwinnett Medical Center provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive breast care through the Gwinnett Breast Program, which is accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. In addition, through our Duke Cancer Network Affiliation, patients and their providers have access to the most advanced research and education programs.

With convenient imaging locations in Peachtree CornersLawrenceville, Duluth and Hamilton Mill, patients and their families have access to technologically advanced care provided by a compassionate team of breast specialists - all close to home. Our extensive program is designed to guide and care for patients and their families throughout the process of screening, diagnosis, treatment and recovery from breast cancer and other breast conditions.

Our program includes individualized care with a patient-centered approach – meaning your care path is determined based on your unique situation and is always focused around your specific needs. The foundation of our program is a dynamic interdisciplinary team of dedicated breast cancer physician specialists, referring providers, specially trained technologists, nurses and navigators. Our team approach provides patients with the most up to date, skilled and compassionate care for optimal breast health.

Breast Multidisciplinary Team Expertise

Although one physician typically manages a patient’s breast cancer care, treatment plans are a coordinated effort between several specialists. At Gwinnett Medical Center, every patient diagnosed with breast cancer receives the focused attention of a team of doctors who specialize in breast and cancer care, including:

  • Breast cancer and reconstruction surgeons
  • Breast imaging radiologists
  • Pathologists
  • Radiologists
  • Radiation and medical oncologists

Breast cancer experts from various areas of clinical expertise meet as a team to review new cases or revisit challenging ones. They analyze test results, discuss different treatment options, share insights from recent research studies and most importantly, reach a consensus on the best approach to treat each specific kind of cancer. You can count on our Breast Health Navigator to work with your health care team to help answer any questions you have about your situation and guide you through your tests and treatment.

We know how important it is to have a specially trained Nurse Navigator to turn to for questions or concerns – or just to advocate for you with a more proactive approach to care. We also know how important it is to have a system of support, including:
