During this rotation, they get the unique opportunity to care for patients with latent and active tuberculosis.  In addition to working with Pulmonary and Infectious disease specialists to treat tuberculosis, residents will manage the patients’ chronic comorbid conditions with Internal Medicine faculty. Residents also learn the principles of tuberculosis screening, prevention and directly observed therapy to help control the spread of tuberculosis in our community.

Public Health Rotation

Residents may elect to rotate though the Public Health Department to gain exposures to the various services it provides. These include Adult Immunizations, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Family Planning, Cancer Screening, STD clinic, and more dedicated time in the Preventive Health (TB) Clinic. In addition, residents will learn the principles of disease screening, prevention and surveillance as it relates to the health of the community.
