Our Name

Clyde and Sandra Strickland generously donated a $1million gift to the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation. The family medicine teaching facility is named in their honor as their gift is one of the largest donations designated for family medicine residency education. The shortage of family medicine doctors in the state and county inspired the Stricklands to give. Their goal is to help the community by offering additional medical resources that are close to home. The Strickland Family Medicine Center will improve the community’s overall health through increased individualized care, and is also designed to further Gwinnett’s viability and boost its economy. The community will continue to benefit as medical school graduates are transformed into board certified family physicians.

Our Mission and Values

To provide patient centered family medicine to the community in a safe, high quality, cost conscious manner.

Values and Care Philosophy

  • Patient safety and high quality, evidence-based care are the cornerstones on which our patient centered medical home is built.
  • We value continuity with our patients, and strive to provide availability of service that exceeds expectations.
  • We respect the individual patient, the family, and their culture.  Our goal is to always provide culturally and linguistically sensitive care.
  • We understand the high cost of healthcare not only to the individual but also the nation.  We make sure we are good stewards of our patient’s healthcare dollars, and use information technology to prevent unnecessary duplication of services.
  • The Strickland Family Medicine Center serves to improve the health of the greater community through outreach, education, and community involvement.
