Purnimsa Bansal, MD

Purnima Bansal, MD

Dr. Bansal is a board-certified family physician who specializes in sports medicine.

Prior to joining GMC, Dr. Bansal was selected to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the world renowned Boston’s Children’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School. Here, she was able to focus her interest in sports medicine on young and elite athletes. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Bansal started the sports medicine program at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Massachusetts.

Following marriage, Dr. Bansal relocated to be with her husband. She continued her journey in Kentucky, where she pioneered the concussion program and ultrasound guided joint injections at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Dr. Bansal brings a unique skill set with her vast experience in pediatric sports medicine. She is a specialist in all aspects of Primary Care Sports Medicine with a special interest in concussions; ultrasound guided musculoskeletal injections and dance medicine.

Dr. Bansal original research has been widely published in prominent medical journals and she is frequently invited to present at national and international meetings.

In her free time, Dr. Bansal enjoys painting, dancing, hiking and yoga.


kevin johnson, mdKevin Johnson, MD

Dr. Johnson in the Program Director and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina and a fellowship in Faculty in Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Osayande is a graduate of the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria. She completed her post graduate residency at Brody School of Medicine in East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina in 2008. She spent one year in private practice before joining an academic family medicine practice in 2010 where she spent six years; four as a core faculty with the last two as Associate program director before transferring to GMC. Her interests include residency education, medical and creative writing, critical appraisal of evidence based medicine literature, pediatric/adult obesity and Women’s health. 

She has published articles for the American Family Physician, Journal of Family Practice, and has numerous chapters in medical books. She also serves as a peer reviewer for various journals and online medical resources.


William Bostock, DOWilliam Bostock, DO, FAAFP

Dr. William Bostock is a native of Georgia and has practiced Family Medicine in Lawrenceville, Georgia since 1986. Dr. Bostock graduated physician’s assistant school from the Medical College of Georgia and graduated medical school from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia.

A member of Phi Sigma Alpha, National Honor Fraternity of Scholastic Excellence. Dr. Bostock was a Promina Health System Board Member and served as Chairman of the Board of the Gwinnett Hospital System PHO. 

Dr. Bostock is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Academy of Family Practice and in 1993, he became a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. 

Dr. Bostock is a member of many state and national medical societies, including the American College of Osteopathic Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, and American Medical Association.  


Katharine Murphree, MD

Dr. Murphree joined Gwinnett Medical Group after completion of her family medicine residency. She grew up in Alabama and graduated magma cum laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. She then attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham for her medical degree before pursuing a residency in family medicine at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Dr. Murphree enjoys spending time with her husband and new puppy in the outdoors.
