Kimberly Bates, MD, FACP, FAAP

Pediatric Medical Advisor - Adolescent Bariatric Surgery

Dr. Bates is a board-certified internist and pediatrician who specializes in treating adolescents and young adults with chronic medical conditions arising in childhood. She serves as our Pediatric Medical Advisor and personally consults with each teen to perform thorough health assessments. She is also the director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Dr. Bates attended The Ohio State University and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She fulfilled her internal medicine and pediatrics training at Christiana Care Health Systems and A.I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. Before moving to Georgia, she was clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to serving patients, she currently serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
