Gwinnett Medical Center in the community
Excellence is a way of life in Gwinnett, and we are proud of our organization’s proven excellence.
Clinical Quality
Maintaining The Joint Commission's accreditation is just one way GMC has received national recognition for quality. In 2006, GMC was awarded the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence and the Pulmonary Specialty Award for Excellence by HealthGrades in 2006. Stroke Program
Part of our System’s commitment to providing the highest quality of care is our decision to seek Joint Commission Certification as a Primary Stroke Center, which we earned in early 2005 and again in May 2007. In addition, our inpatient rehabilitation program at Glancy Rehabilitation Center earned the Stroke Specialty Program Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in 2006.
Cancer Program
Gwinnett Medical Center's Cancer Program has been granted Three-Year Approval with Commendation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. The program is also a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award.
Cardiac Program
In January of 2005, Gwinnett Medical Center became the second hospital in Georgia to receive accreditation as a Chest Pain Center from the Society for Chest Pain Centers. Gwinnett Medical Center’s Cardiac Wellness Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
