Make a Difference - Volunteer
Volunteers are utilized throughout the medical center to assist staff in many different areas of our hospital. We have opportunities for adults, college students and high school students.
In 2006, volunteers donated more than 30,000 hours of their time. The volunteers at the front desk delivered over 2,700 flower arrangements and 2,600 pieces of mail to patients at GMC. The volunteers who work in our "on-call" office received over 18,000 requests for assistance from our hospital staff in 2006 and assisted in discharging almost 6,000 patients.
In March of 2007, the Auxiliary purchased a Courtesy Cart for use at our Lawrenceville campus. The cart is driven by volunteers and is available for patients and visitors Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at no charge. Over 100 patients and visitors are utilizing the cart each day.
