VolleyFest raised $215,000 in 2007

The 7th Annual VolleyFest tennis tournament was held at nine different neighborhoods including TPC @ Sugarloaf, Hamilton Mill, Laurel Springs, The River Club, St. Ives Country Club, St. Marlo Country Club, Summit Chase, Collins Hill Athletic Club and Windward Lake Club.

Since 2002, VolleyFest has raised over $775,000 for the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation's TIME MATTERS in the fight against Breast Cancer campaign.  Sheila Stevens, founder and co-chair of the event, began the tournament after losing a family member to cancer.  She urged her fellow neighbors to rally with her in the fight against Breast Cancer.

VolleyFest funds for 2007 have been designated to a new dedicated screening mammography center on the campus of Gwinnett Medical Center – Duluth, which is currently under construction and will open Fall 2007.  VolleyFest has also helped fund the Care-a-Van mobile mammography unit, CAD Technology, Digital Mammography and Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook.

Other clubs and neighborhoods are invited to join the VolleyFest efforts in 2008.  If you would like to find out more about how to get your neighborhood involved, visit www.volleyfest.org or call VolleyFest Central at 770-271-7818.
