Pediatric Rehabilitation
When a child has difficulty participating in activities typical for his or her age, it’s a comfort to know that a team of health care professionals is available to provide treatment in a caring, holistic environment. Our team approach to treatment draws on the resources of a number of therapeutic disciplines, which combine to create individualized therapy programs that bring results. The pediatric therapy team includes the child, family, physician and physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists.
Comprehensive Services, Flexible Scheduling
Our pediatric rehabilitation program provides prompt, comprehensive services and allows flexible scheduling based on the patient’s needs. Upon entering the program, a complete assessment is performed to assess the child’s current functional status. A goal-directed treatment plan is then designed based on the child’s needs. Since children change and grow so rapidly, frequent reassessments are completed to assure that their therapy programs keep pace with their progress.
Co-treatments are often utilized to help the child integrate functional abilities like communication and dressing skills. In addition, parents are trained in therapeutic techniques for consistent treatment at home. The pediatric therapy team also coordinates care with other caregivers, including teachers, case managers and school therapists. Providing information and education helps to ensure that everyone works consistently with the child inside and outside of therapy sessions.
