Gwinnett Women's Pavilion provides the highest quality information and assistance to help you breastfeed your baby. We have three International Board Certified Lactation Consultants on our staff with over 35 years of experience.
We offer:
· Prenatal breastfeeding classes to help you understand the basics of breastfeeding
· Around the clock trained nursing staff for hands on assistance from the beginning
· Daily breastfeeding helpline phone consultations for questions after you are at home
· In-hospital consultations by referral or request for extra breastfeeding assistance
· Breastfeeding support groups four times per month for weight checks and help if needed

Extraordinary Breastfeeding Support at Gwinnett Medical Center
In 1993 the Gwinnett Hospital System applied for and received a Certificate of Intent to become a Baby Friendly Facility. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) adopted the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative in 1991 for hospitals and birthing facilities worldwide. Hospitals awarded the Certificate of Intent are actively promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding as the best choice for infant nutrition. Gwinnett Women’s Pavilion is proud to continue as the only facility in Georgia and one of 68 hospitals in the United States maintaining a Certificate of Intent.
