High-Risk Pregnancy Unit
Dedicated to Caring for High Risk Pregnancies
While having a baby is a very exciting life event, it can also be stressful. And for some women, there are certain factors that can cause their pregnancies to be deemed high-risk. These issues can develop during pregnancy or can be the result of pre-existing conditions. This is why the Gwinnett Women’s Pavilion has a dedicated High-Risk Pregnancy Unit.
While there are certain things you can do to prevent complications, such as good nutrition, a healthy lifestyle and good prenatal care, other factors like preeclampsia and gestational diabetes may require more attention from your OB/GYN or Gwinnett Women’s Pavilion. If you require a prolonged hospital stay during pregnancy or after delivery, our specially trained staff will be here to provide you with comfortable and comprehensive care. The unit’s nursing staff is skilled in caring for both the physical and emotional needs of women during this important time.
Our High-Risk Pregnancy Unit is a 12-bed unit designed with all the comforts of home. Each room is equipped with a private bath, refrigerator, microwave, WiFi service, desk/workstation and DVD player. Laptops are available for patient check-out during your stay.
