Why Practice at Gwinnett Medical Center?
Excellence is a way of life at Gwinnett Medical Center, and we are proud of our organization’s proven excellence. Below you will find a few of the many ways we are transforming healthcare.
Maintaining The Joint Commission's accreditation is one of the ways in which Gwinnett Medical Center has received national recognition for quality.

Part of our hospital’s commitment to providing the highest quality of care is our decision to seek Joint Commission Certification as a Primary Stroke Center. We earned certification in early 2005 and again in May 2007.
Additionally, our inpatient rehabilitation program at Glancy Rehabilitation Center earned the Stroke Specialty Program Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in 2006.
Gwinnett Medical Center's Cancer Program has been granted Three-Year Approval with Commendation by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. The program is also a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award.
In January of 2005, Gwinnett Medical Center became only the second hospital in Georgia to receive accreditation as a Chest Pain Center from the Society for Chest Pain Centers. And we are currently working toward bringing an open heart facility to Gwinnett County.
Additionally, Gwinnett Medical Center’s Cardiac Wellness Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
