Center for Neuroscience
Welcome to the Center for Neuroscience at Gwinnett Medical Center. Our Center is dedicated to providing specialized care for neurological and neurosurgical patients in a multi-level care unit. We are highly trained and motivated to provide you with the best medical care possible.
Type of Patients
The Center for Neuroscience provides specific levels of care for patients who have had neck surgery, back surgery, stroke, traumatic brain injury, cerebral aneurysm, brain tumor, spinal cord injury, seizures, neuromuscular disease and/or other neurological problems.
While you or your loved one is a patient here, care will be provided by a team of skilled healthcare professionals who may include a neurosurgeon, neurologist, nurse and nurse technician, occupational, physical or respiratory therapist, speech-language pathologist, pharmacist, dietitian, clinical case manager, social worker, chaplain and patient representative.
Our policy is open but with some restrictions due to limited space and the tolerance capacity of our patients to environmental stimulation. Open visitation is permitted from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the following restrictions:
Limit two persons at a time.
Visitors should be willing to comply with a request by any healthcare provider to vacate the patient’s room whenever necessary.
Visitation by children 12 years old or younger is discouraged.
