Hospital’s Mobile Mammography Unit Gets a Makeover: Life saving Care-a-Van Sports New Look

The mobile unit, which touts state-of-the-art digital equipment, now has a colorful exterior that matches the vibrant staff that runs the program. The fresh look of the van is the latest in GMC’s community outreach and awareness efforts regarding preventative health care.

The van, which has provided convenient access to mammography screenings for more than 15 years, affords women the opportunity to receive quick and easy screenings. The Care-a-Van’s mammography screening program also complies with the Mammography Quality Standards Act, signifying that all Care-a-Van mammography personnel, equipment and record-keeping practices comply with federal guidelines from the American College of Radiology.

The 20 minute screening can be completed at virtually any location—work, school, house of worship—due to the convenience of the mobile unit. With accredited professionals on board, women are able to receive life-saving care in a timely and convenient manner. Just like a regular check-up, Care-a-Van mammograms are covered by most major insurance providers.
