GMC–Duluth Now Offers Full Continuum of Breast Health Care

05.12.2009

Duluth, Ga.—A new breast diagnostic center is now open in the Outpatient Center of Gwinnett Medical Center–Duluth.

The Center for Women’s Diagnostic Imaging will provide the required next level of care should physicians need to take a second look after a screening mammography study.  In addition to this service, a range of other breast diagnostic services will be offered at the center including biopsies and breast ultrasound.

The first diagnostic center in Duluth was originally located within the Center for Screening Mammography, but the need for a larger, separate diagnostic center was required as the number of patients in Duluth who needed diagnostic services continued to grow.

The Center for Women’s Diagnostic Imaging, like all of GMC’s mammography centers, is an all-digital facility. And while the equipment is the latest digital technology around, the Center’s environment is better compared to a spa than an imaging center.

Soft, warm robes, soothing music, comfortable furniture and refreshments all contribute to a relaxing environment. And the primary benefit of GMC’s all-digital technology means that diagnostic studies will be completed quickly, giving physicians clear results and patients quicker answers.

“We are pleased to now offer the same cutting-edge technology for non-surgical biopsy options our flagship campus in Lawrenceville,” says Cynthia Robinson, MD, diagnostic radiologist for GMC. “Women who need breast biopsies will now have two locations to choose from. More available appointment slots will also mean less waiting time for the patient.”

The tranquil and modern center will help alleviate any stress you have when you walk through our door, GMC uses the services of dedicated, board-certified radiologists and highly trained staff to ensure accurate results. Please visit www.GMCimaging.org for more information.
