Cancer Support Programs

A cancer diagnosis can send you on an emotional roller coaster. Gwinnett Medical Center is here to help you cope, with a wide range of support services and patient resources.

Patient Navigators—Help educate, support and guide you through your cancer treatment. Your navigator will call you on a regular basis throughout your treatment and recovery, helping your healthcare team stay informed and meeting any requests or concerns you may have.

Look Good…Feel Better®—Held in cooperation with the American Cancer Society, these sessions help women undergoing cancer treatment cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment. To register for the next monthly session, call 1-888-227-6333.

Appearance Specialist—To further help female cancer patients with their appearance issues, we have a licensed cosmetologist on staff. She provides patients with private consultations designed to help them look and feel their best during treatment. To make an appointment, call 678-312-3316.

Support Groups—Gwinnett patients have access to a variety of cancer support groups, including:

  • Circle of Caring Women’s Cancer Support Group—Meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 631 Professional Drive, Suite 450, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

Breast Health and Hope Resource Center—Provides educational materials to support men and women diagnosed with cancer.
