While we hope you’ll never need our Emergency Departments or Children’s Emergency Center, they’re open to care for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are staffed by expert doctors and nurses specially trained in emergency care. Gwinnett Medical Center is also accredited as a chest pain center and a stroke center.

Gwinnett Medical Center–Lawrenceville offers a full-service Emergency Department, including a Level II trauma center, the only trauma center in Gwinnett County.

Gwinnett Medical Center–Duluth offers a full-service Emergency Department, to treat all ages.

Children’s Emergency Center
The Children’s Emergency Center at Gwinnett Medical Center–Lawrenceville is staffed by the physicians of Gwinnett Emergency Specialists. Created to serve children from newborns through age 17, the Children’s Emergency Center provides VIP treatment, including:

  • A separate children’s entrance
  • Child-appropriate waiting areas and patient rooms
  • Technology designed for children
  • Registration and triage separate from the Emergency Department
  • Physician and nursing staff credentialed in pediatric emergency care

All the physicians at our Children’s Emergency Center are board-certified in pediatrics or pediatric emergency medicine.
