Improving Wound Treatment Care

Are non-healing wounds an issue for you?

Do you have chronic or acute non-healing wounds that never seem to heal as they should? Wounds that resist healing for longer than three weeks increase your risk for infection. If you suspect you may have problems with wound care treatment, ask your physician for a referral to the Wound Treatment Center at GMC.

To improve care, we have individualized patient plans and have integrated the most advanced technology to help aid your body's healing process. Our highly skilled medical staff treat patients from across north Georgia, including Gwinnett, Hall, Barrow, Walton and DeKalb counties.

Since a variety of factors may prevent wounds from healing, our healthcare specialists look at the total picture of wound care from treatment to reoccurrence prevention. In addition, we are actively involved in research studies for chronic wounds, providing the latest innovations in wound care to our patients.

The types of wounds commonly evaluated include:

  • Diabetic ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Venous stasis ulcers
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Infected or non-healing surgical wounds
  • Small burns

Our entire team will be involved in your healing process. Team members include a certified wound care physician, certified wound, ostomy and continence nurses and a physical therapist certified in wound care.
