Volunteers are utilized throughout the medical center to assist staff in many different areas of our hospital. We have opportunities for adults, college students and high school students.
In 2008, volunteers donated almost 40,000 hours of their time. Front Desk volunteers at delivered over 2,200 flower arrangements and 3,000 pieces of mail to patients at GMC. Volunteers who work in our "on-call" office received over 16,000 requests for assistance from our hospital staff in 2008 and assisted in discharging almost 5,700 patients.
In March of 2007, the Auxiliary purchased a Courtesy Cart for use at our Lawrenceville campus. The cart is driven by volunteers and is available for patients and visitors Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at no charge. Over 100 patients and visitors are utilizing the cart each day.
