One extraordinary benefit that Gwinnett Medical Center provides to its community is the ImPACT program for youth and high school athletes. GMC continues to advance healthcare by improving the care for Gwinnett athletes suffering concussions. ImPACT (Immediate Post-concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) will help team physicians determine whether or not its safe for an athlete to return to play. No other hospital in Georgia offers this service county-wide—and GMC is providing it free of charge. GMCs goal is to reduce the chance of follow-up concussions, thus helping the student-athletes performance both on the field and in the classroom.
