Pain Management
The Pain Management Program at Gwinnett Medical Center – Lawrenceville is committed to maximizing patient comfort, using every tool at our disposal to ease pain. Every patient receives an individualized treatment plan customized to meet his or her goals.
Program goals include:
- Determine the cause of your pain as best we can and explain it to you.
- Assess surgical options.
- Assess your levels of pain, depression, anxiety, fatigue and function (work, housework, hobbies, family relationships, friend relationships and community relationships).
- Discuss and decide on a treatment plan to address symptom management and increased function using medication, procedures, a home exercise program, physical therapy, psychological support and techniques, proper nutrition and exercise, and alternative therapies.
- Discuss whether your condition will get completely better with treatment or if you will always have pain.
- Set goals for pain levels and function.
