Medical Library

The Gwinnett Medical Center Medical Library provides an extensive collection of medical resources and a wide range of library services to our physicians, healthcare professionals, associates and community members.

Our collection includes both traditional resources such as books, journals, video/audiotapes, CDs and reference materials, as well as virtual resources, including numerous user-friendly electronic databases providing links to a large collection of full-text journals and books.

Hours

The Medical Library is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Physician identification cards may also be used to access the library at any hour. MISSION Our mission is to provide the highest quality medical information services and resources to support excellence in patient care, clinical and management decision-making, research, community wellness and the educational needs of our customers.

Services

Circulation * Many books and audiovisuals may be checked out for a three-week period. Reference * Literature searches performed by professional medical librarian. * Reference questions answered. * Citations verified. * Library assistance available in using resources and equipment. Interlibrary Loans * Journal articles and books not available in our medical library may be borrowed from other libraries free of charge as long as they are for clinical care. Training * One-on-one training available on all library databases. Notary Public * Available during regular library hours.

Journals * A ten-year print collection of the leading medical, nursing, and allied health journals. * Access to over 2,500 electronic journals. Books * Core collection of over 1500 medical, nursing and allied health books. * Professional and business books. * Access to over 100 electronic medical books. * Computer software training manuals. * Hospital course training books (BLS, ACLS, PALS) Video/audiotapes/CDs Newspaper and leisure magazines.

Electronic Databases 

Many of GHS's Online Electronic Databases are available for use in the Library only. Our licensing agreements do not allow us to offer remote access to the public, but the public may use these resources if they come into the Library.
