Gwinnett Women's Pavilion provides the highest quality information and assistance to help you breastfeed your baby. We have two international board-certified lactation consultants on our staff who together have more than 35 years of experience.
We offer:
- Prenatal breastfeeding classes that cover the basics of breastfeeding
- Around-the-clock trained nursing staff for hands-on assistance
- Breastfeeding helpline consultations for questions once you’re at home
- In-hospital consultations and referrals for outpatient breastfeeding assistance

Extraordinary Breastfeeding Support at Gwinnett Medical Center
In 1993, the Gwinnett Hospital System received a Certificate of Intent to become a Baby-Friendly Facility. Hospitals awarded the Certificate of Intent are actively promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding as the best choice for infant nutrition.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) adopted the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in 1991 for hospitals and birthing facilities worldwide. Gwinnett Women’s Pavilion is proud to continue as the only facility in Georgia—and one of 68 hospitals in the United States—maintaining a Certificate of Intent to become a WHO and UNICEF Baby-Friendly Facility.
