ImPACT to our High School athletes
ImPACT Concussion Program

According to the American Medical Association, two million sports-related concussions occur each year, and 85 percent of those go unrecognized.
GMC has a vision to improve the standard of care for athletes suffering concussions. For this reason, it is providing public high schools in Gwinnett County, as well as the youth of the Gwinnett Football League, with a new program to manage head injuries called ImPACT (Immediate Post-concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing).
No other hospital in Georgia offers this service county-wide—and GMC is providing it at no fee. GMC’s goal is to reduce the chance of follow-up concussions, thus helping the student athlete’s performance both on the field and in the classroom.
