Cardiac Services
The Cardiac Services department at Gwinnett Medical Center has been providing cardiac and vascular care to the residents of Gwinnett and metro Atlanta for more than 20 years. We are committed to continually improving and expanding our cardiac services, and currently offer:
- An accredited Chest Pain Center—for chest pain evaluation in an emergency situation
- Cardiac Wellness Center—for rehabilitation after a heart attack
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab—for minimally invasive surgery procedures related to heart attacks and other heart problems
- Cardiology Department—for the diagnosis of heart and vascular conditions
In addition, Gwinnett Medical Center is excited to announce approval of a much-needed open heart surgery program for Gwinnett County, allowing us to provide truly comprehensive heart care to the people of Gwinnett.
Here are just a few of the awards and accreditations we’ve achieved due to our efforts to better serve local residents.
- In the late 90s, the Cardiology department became an accredited vascular laboratory in the area of arterial and peripheral venous testing.
- In January of 2005, Gwinnett Medical Center became the second hospital in Georgia to receive accreditation as a Chest Pain Center from the Society for Chest Pain Centers.
- Gwinnett Medical Center was recognized by Blue Cross/Blue Shield in March of 2005 as a best-practicing hospital in the care of heart failure patients.
- Gwinnet Medical’s Cardiac Wellness Program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
